About

Kuristina Oyama, also known as Kikuko Oyama, was born on October 21, 1971, in Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Japan. She is the third daughter of Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Karate. Raised in a family dedicated to martial arts, Kuristina was educated both in Japan and abroad, including time spent in Singapore and New York. She studied Criminal Psychology and Herbology at Sarah Lawrence University.

Following her father's death in 1994, Kuristina returned to Japan and became instrumental in preserving his legacy. She co-established the Oyama Baidatsu Memorial Hall with her mother to protect and promote Kyokushin Karate. As president of the International Karatedo Federation Oyama Baidatsu Kyokushinkaikan, she continues to uphold the principles of her father's teachings.
